Gt3 smile vent
I saw the rennlist gt3 vent, with their kit seems like an easy DIY job, seems removing the bumper is the biggest pain, and it's cheap too, so I wonder why not more p owners have done this mod? I'm thinking about it myself as I think it would greatly improve the look of my car's front, where do you guys stand on this mod?
This is roughly a with and without pic....
This is no plasti dip, once the hole is there..... Is there forever, unsure.....

I plan to do this when I get the aero kit. With the vent I think the front bumper will be the same as GT3's bumper. I am doing it because I will also get the third radiator and the vent will provide an escape route for hot air. I think people usually don't add the vent to their non-aerokit bumpers because it won't get the GT3 look any way.
thinking about it for the look, not the opinions....
Agreed - who cares what others think.
I don't want a GT3 lip - its to big and low and would just get mangled. The point is for the aesthetic look of the black smile, not for aero reasons.
That said, if you install a 3rd radiator - that is needed for the radiator to work with any efficiency.
By itself, its a great option, in my mind, IF you don't have a front plate requirement.
When initially shopping I loved that look with the smile, compared to the long continuous solid color from the windscreen to the street in front of the bumper. It breaks up the space nicely.
But once I mounted my required front plate, that black mount and colored plate break up the visuals already, and adding the smile would add little at this point. I'm still thinking about adding the smile some day... the mesh is needed so its not so visible that there isn't anything but the space behind the bumper cover down there. Maybe its an opportunity to mount a PA speaker behind the bumper so you can have some fun with a mic or some sound effects ?
Now if you install the vent, and then mount colored lights inside there, THEN you are a poser.

the smiley vent is for GT3 center radiator which vents from the top vs regular 3rd radiator which will vent from the bottom
btw gt3 center radiators are about 3x more expensive than normal 3rd radiator

The vent on a gt3 is there because the center radiator is angled to let air flow through and out through this vent. The hot air flies out the gt3 vent and creates low pressure over the hood for downforce.
a vent in a Carrera based car is just for looks.
