Ordering a U.S car to canada?
I was on another forum and they mentioned that theres about a 30,000 canadian dollar difference when you buy a 911S in canada compared to the U.S.
Thats not fair so my next concern is can i buy a U.S car and ship it to canada?

Don't see any reason why not so long as its on the Canada Fed list for importation into Canada. I bought my 02' 996TT out of Chicago back in March, the only mod I had to do for the inspection was the daytime running lights, which I did myself for about 2 bucks...doh!
I had the car delivered to me in Kelowna in an enclosed auto transport truck for about 2K USD.
With the Canadian dollar exchange so good now, it must be worth doing. All the US warranties are valid up here anyway.
Good luck.

And I know its impossible to tell but can the canadian dollar lose substantial value in lets say 6 monthes?
Im so excited here i was thinking i'd have to pay 120,000 for a standard S now i can afford to have a nice amount of mods and still not even have to hit that number! I think I m gonna trade my boxster in sooner then i thought!

Used with a minimum # of miles (7500?) can be done avoiding duties
New, is another story, and I think you will get hit with duties. You need to check it out, but I don't know the exact details.
In the US in years past, some have bought cars from Canada (GM) to save money.
These loop holes have long been closed.

There is also a stupid BC luxury tax as well of 10% or so based on a figure over 35K I think, can't quite remember...anyway it still works out cheaper....I save over 40K CDN buying my TT from the US after all was said and done.
TT's are without doubt the best cars to buy out of the US based on the depreciation that has hit them...seems to have slowed somewhat now though

The different between US and Canadian new porsche MSRP is getting bigger. You will save alot to import a new or used Porsche from US. But you have to think about the resale value. Usually US car value lower in Canada or some dealer don't trade with US cars. You can always send the back to US for resale.
I was thinking to import a GT2 from US before, because of the price and more to choose. And I think it will be more easy when I try to sell it and there were no used Canadian GT2 on the market. If you're importing a 997s, when you sell it, people will compare it to other 997s on the Canadian market and the buyer will not pay same money for US cars. just my 0.02!
