That does look great! Stock 19" rims?
Question - what colour is your car? Mine is Seal Grey, I really like those black rock guards on your car and that may be an upgrade soon for my car.

Also - what's the cost of those springs?

My 997 is arctic silver and the wheels are Champion Motorsports RG5B's that I had powder coated flat black. The rears are 19x11.5 and my rear 295 tire is a little too stretched IMO so I'll be putting a 305 on next time which will fill out the rear tire shape a little better I think.

If you want black stone guards, buy them Porsche OEM because they are thick vinyl which will protect from rocks, and Ive found the thicker ones easier to apply too. Got mine from Suncoast.

The Eibachs were 350 after the summer rebate they were offering, but I think that ended. Then just as much more to have them installed. I love driving in normal PASM mode now though. I used to hate it because it was too bouncy. Now it stays flat and feels sporty no matter which mode, but normal mode is still comfortable for just driving around town.

911nitis, the springs aren't going to make the ride "harsher". They keep the car flatter so there's less body roll side-to-side, less squat front-to-back, and less bouncy than the stock springs (in normal PASM mode).

That is one great looking car and the drop is just perfect. Thank you so much for posting.

I see you have black chromed exhaust tips on your car, I have been playing with the idea of adding these to mine. Can you post a picture of them?

Going in Tuesday

After reading hundreds of post of installing shocks seems that many have had some great experiences just like many have had bad ones. Some say Sprins and then you get the guys commenting on how coil overs are so much better. I spoke to Bilstein and they say their system is great but it does make the ride much harsher. I also spoke with Eibach and they say it should be a little like oem but still will notice it to be harsher. I look at my 997 and some days it looks great and some days it looks just way to high. So I decided I will be doing both and if they aren't satisfactory will be returning the car back to stock.

Therefore I've decided to install the Eibachs this Tuesday. The install and alignment will be taking place at Eibach HQ in Corona. I will be posting pictures but if you want to see live pictures from Eibach, you can see at http://instagram.com/autoproyecto

I admit Im a little nervous since the suspension is stock and has never been modified or touched. But there is only one way to see what the fuss is with this. Would like to remind you that I vowed never to modify this car but now here it goes!

cheaper to find someone with lowering springs and ride in their cars. You're in LA. There are thousands of 911. I'm some are members here and are on eibachs or coilovers

So, Tuesday came....and what happened? Well after giving this a lot of thought I decided to stick to my initial thought and not modify the vehicle. Why? The vehicle is stock and Porsche has done a tremendous amount of work in creating this amazing suspension for me to come in and place aftermarket springs to lower it basically for looks is just silly. The fact is that it does ride high, it does look like an suv, yes the wheel gap is big but it does drive amazing with the stock suspension, it really is a real canyon carver and at the end of the day the peace of mind that comes from knowing this car is 100% stock and the way Porsche made it to ride is what makes me happy.

Except that it isn't 100% stock the way Porsche made it. Cars made for the US market has a taller stance due to US regulations related to bumper height and crash worthiness. If you want the peace of mind of a factory bone stock car the way Porsche designed it then lower it.

You raise a very good point. Porsche must struggle to comply with bumper height regulations. The easier fix for Porsche is simply to ship US cars with taller springs.

Damn. One more reason for me to waste some more dough. I sure like that look, "stock" or not.

I guess I'm in the minority with H&R springs and black satin chrome tips but I am in LA.

As an idea...

Around $1,300 for springs, install, spacers and alignment. A bargain imo given how it transforms the car. You do need spacers to pull it off all the way. The drop tucks the wheels into the well.

I have 15mm spacers on all four corners already. I'd eyeballed the cost o Eibachs springs at about $1000, all in, so I guess I wasn't that far off. I was initially hesitant about the spacers, but man oh man, what a nice improvement. I suspect my reaction to the springs would be similar, since that fender gap now looks bigger every time I see it.
