GTS - Aerokit Question

I have a 2007 base 911 and am looking to move up to a 2011 or 2012 GTS. I have a very specific list of options in mind, and am content to wait until I find the one I want. One option that I really want is the Aerokit. I love the look of the large rear spoiler and have decided that is essential.

Here are my two questions:

1. If I find a GTS that is otherwise perfect, but does not have the aerokit - could I add the OEM Aerokit without negatively impacting the value of the car? (I formerly owned a 1970 Dodge Challenger and always knew that changing things on that car was not the right thing to do.) Would a future potential buyer five years from now want a huge discount on the car because the Aerokit was not on the original build tag for the car?

2. What else (besides the rear spoiler) comes with the official Aerokit option?

Like I said above my preference is to stand on side and continue shopping Autotrader and CarGurus sites every day until I see one that meets my list of options and low miles.

Thanks.

You can add the aero kit under your ownership and remove and sell when the time comes to part with the car. I cannot see that negatively affecting value in any way.

I believe the rear spoiler, front lip spoiler and perhaps the side skirts (not 100% sure on skirts though) are the aero kit package.

If this car ticks all the boxes for you except aero kit, I'd say get it and add it to your taste.

Agree with Swoody. Keep all the original parts then swap them back before sale. I'm pretty certain the installation of the Aerokit parts is non-destructive so a swap back is just a matter of effort.
Even if you sell them later at half of what you paid for them, you'll probably get more money overall (car sale price + parted-out parts sales). On my prior 997.1 C4, all of my upgrades (LED fog/tail lights, exhaust, intake) where swapped back to stock before sale, and since I bought the exhaust and intake used I got almost all of the money back that I paid for them originally. Of course, that doesn't work with new parts.

Aerokit cup kit is a great addition, beside looking great, it's functional. Stick to the road like glue on windy day. Install both rear and front at same time to get best handling.

Agree that installing aerokit will not negatively impact the resale value of your car. I had looked into it when I got my car as well. Kit comes with front bumper, rear deck spoiler. Not sure if you will get any added value at resale, however. To me, didn't matter - I wanted the car to look like I wanted it to look, so I was darn sure I was going to enjoy it the way I wanted to.

Don't know if the expense of removing the parts and reinstalling the old is worth it at time of resale.

Personally, I would never buy one without an aerokit, it's a sports car and should look like one. So you will have guys like me that only looks for one with it in the used market. I would pay 2-4K more with one. I know it'll cost me 10K plus to have it installed later. You can keep your OEM parts so when it's time to sell, put it back on and it will not effect resale value.

GTS kit is just front and rear spoiler - side skirts are part of the GTS package.

I wonder that myself, every time I see my original deck lid taking up freakin' space in my condo. Or my original lights. Or my . . . (Fill in the blank). I'm going to have tough decisions to make when my new cats arrive. I know what my better half would say. Unless you have a garage, the evidence of modding these cars adds up quickly, and its presence reminds me how much I pi$$ed away. Is it worth it? I'm really wondering.

Truth...I still have take-off parts from a 997.1 TT I sold a year ago and now am accumulating parts from my GTS. It's a sickness
