So I am thinking of an ECU flash for my 2006 997 C2S.

What are your thoughts on ECU Flash: expected co$t and results, worth it or not? Don't track car, not a daily driver car it's my weekend car.

I just ordered a flash from VR Tuned. On a Black Friday sale, it was just under $800, all in. Softronics was available on sale for just under $900. The discounts were 20 and 15% respectively. Most seem to be in this range or a little higher. Most are self installation kits, so there's no la or cost.

Expect $800 to $1000 depending upon where and when you buy a tune. A tune by itself does help but really shows its value along with intake and exhaust mods. Start with high flow cats and a tune. Then progress to a plenum and headers.

Is it worth it is subjective. Personally I think a tune alone is not the first mod to be done but does have value when added in with other mods.

The stars came together for me, and I just finished installing a VR Tuned flash, and a few days ago, Fabspeed Xpipe and IPD plenum. Overall, it's a terrific combination. I got a big bump in power with the cats, along with an intoxicating sound. I could definitely feel more from the plenum. The tune seemed to pull it together, and it really pulls from about 3k. To be honest, though, I don't have the low and mid range torque I was expecting. It might just be that it hasn't all adapted yet, as I only did the tune a few hours ago. So far, I think it was worth it to add the tune, but the jury's still out.

The prices stated above are on point. The EVO tune for your car is on sale right now. I think it's like 8 and change, and figure $75 for the "flash"

I have an 06 C2S - with 200 cell cats, xpipe, CAI, and headers. To me the tune pulls it all together and is totally worth it. The car is a much tighter package now. Coming up on 70 in 2nd, and grabbing a hundred (ok, 97 so far) in 3rd. I honestly don't remember it being THAT beastly before the tune. Plus smooth as hell.

I got the Protomotive tune. Their website is horrendous, but the tune is great.

82mm plenum and GT3 throttle body on the horizon for me.

I also wanted to mention that some folks will say it's a total waste of money, and to save your money and go buy a turbo, or go the forced induction route like a supercharger something to them I say, "Hong Kong phooey. Have a little fun with your life. A thousand bucks is like breakfast for two at someplace nice. You know what I mean?" a $1000 tune may not give you the same results as buying a $20,000 upgrade on your car but it's pretty freaking nice.

An ECU tune is one of the most important modifications you can do - especially if you have bolt on modifications already (intake/exhaust).

The ECU tune maximizes efficiency and really allows you to get the most out of your car and any upgrades you have installed.

We are an authorized EVOMS Dealer, and are honoring their 20% off as well, let me know if I can be of any assistance!

Sure can. I flashed both my C4s and Turbo. If you decide to get one, I'd be happy to help you with the install.
