Suspension recommendation for 997.2 C2S

Hey all,

My car does dual duty street/track so right now it's stock on the sport PASM chassis and I just swap to CCW's with NT01's and PFC08 pads for track days. I wanted to do something more to the suspension to improve turn-in and get rid of some of the understeer but still keep it relatively civilized for the street. I've maxed out the front camber which still leaves a lot to be desired with the stock suspension.

First I was thinking about getting GT3 LCA's to get more camber and perhaps TPC's DSC box to remap the PASM. This seems like a good option for a small incremental step but I can see more modification required down the road after this like sway bars and eventually shocks and springs.

Then I started looking at TPC's Stage 3 suspension which is basically bilstein damptronics with different springs and top plates, sway bars, drop links, rear toe links, and coupled with the DSC box for PASM remapping. The camber plates should allow me to get to -2.5 up front which I think should be fine with NT01's (I'm not going to slicks or anything like that) so perhaps the GT3 LCA's aren't needed with this configuration.

Lastly, a lot of my track buddies say to just get a fully custom system such as a custom valved shock according to my spring and tire choice, weight of the car, etc. This seems like the least street friendly setup since I lose PASM but I don't plan on running anything more than 600/800# springs and they say I can just turn the shocks to full soft and it should be fine on the street.

All these options vary greatly in terms of cost and how the car turns from a street car into a track car. I'm initially leaning towards the TPC Stage 3 but I haven't read many reviews of the system outside of the 997TT and Cayman guys. I'm sure they know what they're doing and it should be comparable on the carrera but I just wanted to make sure. Some things I do want to avoid are introducing a lot of metal-on-metal noises and any sort of permanent modification such as shaving strut towers, etc. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I would say Öhlins Road & Track coil over suspension is one of the best available.

I've heard good things about this kit. I'd most likely want to get it custom valved and with higher spring rates than what they give you, though. Do you think its better to get rid of the PASM system for a well valved passive system?

If you aren't going to miss the comfort settings in the PASM - I'd say a fully adjustable static/passive system is a good choice as it allows you to fully explore ranges of adjustability that the PASM will not let you. It really depends on your specific needs!

I'd consider a setup from JRZ, the RS Pros have external reservoirs also. We've done really simple spring setups, all the way to fully adjustable coilovers and as long as the parts match your intended use, everyone is a happy camper.

Most importantly is the setup once they are installed, be sure to take it to a reputable shop in your area who can corner balance + align it correctly, it'll make all the difference.
