PPI complete
It needs all new brake pads, rotors and tire sensors (4).
It also needs 2 new front tires.
It had some paint work done to the front bumper. Carfax reports no accidents.
Driver seat mechanism and frame needs to be replaced (does not go up or down).
Needs oil change and 40k mile service
And finally, the DME:
RANGE 1: 5,066 / 1420.00
RANGE 2: 1,557 / 1420.00
RANGE 3: 378 / 1404.2
RANGE 4: 240 / 1404.2
RANGE 5: 192 / 1404.2
RANGE 6: 1 / 1404.2
Year: 2008
Mileage: 40,840
Obviously it's been over-rev'd

I'd personally probably pass on that car. Not necessarily because of the DME report but because of the DME report in conjunction with all the other money you're going to have to put into it.
40k service is the expensive one. Tires will run you a bunch of money. The driver's seat issue would be a big issue for me. Brakes are gonna cost a bunch.
You're talking a lot of money to make this one work.

I agree. If I'm going to replace the front 2 tires I might as well replace all of them. The driver seat did knock when I tried adjusting it's height and was told the whole frame would need replacing. Brakes, rotors & sensors I'm looking at a lot and I don't want to go cheap on them, especially in a race car.

If the car is from a Porsche Dealership, those items would have to be corrected before I bought the car. (If you was still interested in it)

nasty DME.... nice to know the last turkey who drove it beat the **** out of it. that report is worse than the 08 4s I was looking at originally, and I thought that one was bad!
I did all my brakes all the way around and im at 38K. I did them myself, so it was reasonable.
Seems to have needed a good $5k to baseline it for maintenance, and that's before DME potential future engine issues.

There are 3 ignitions in 1 revolution and there are 120 revolutions in a second. That comes out to 360 ignitions per second.
You take the number of ignition cycles in each range and divide by 360 to see how long they were in the redline.
I think I did this right. If there are any errors please correct me.
Range 1: 5066/360 - 14.0 sec
Range 2: 1557/360 - 4.3 sec
Range 3: 378/360 - 1.05 sec
Range 4: 240/360 - 0.66 sec
Range 5: 192/360 - 0.53 sec
Range 6: 1/360 - 0.002 sec
I didn't experience any rough idles, hesitations or misfires when I drove it both times. However, the maintenance and repairs must be addressed before any consideration of purchasing the car. Tires, brakes, rotors and pads are $3k not including labor cost. This car is from a Porsche dealer.

cause it won't cost them $3500 to do all that, and bet they knew all that before you showed up...i'd start at $4500 off, but then, thats just me, and like's been said, there are plenty more out there......
#28
Thats such a stupid move by them, they tried to STILL make you pay for the full price of repairs- it was more like 3K in repairs from what you mentioned...
#29
The tires, brake pads, rotors and sensors along with the labor was $3k alone. The seat mechanism and frame is $1400, so basically a new seat. Also it needs an oil change and the 40k mile service.
#30
you could have bought pads & rotors from Pelican Parts for a fraction of that- if you needed all 4 tires new than ya that would drive it up there
