Broken sun visor vanity mirror replacment

My sun visor mirror flap that covers the mirror broke. I ordered the sun visors with no lights. So I installed them, but I noticed the lighted ones were wired, and the new ones are not obviously. I ended up cutting the wires and covered with electric tape and installed the new ones. My question is will the wires that are left act like the light is on or activated, hence draining the battery?

If you wrapped each one separately, then no worries as no current is flowing (open circuit). If you connected them together then covered them in electrical tape you will either blow a fuse or drain the battery (short circuit).
