Porsche 911 = Porsche 818 ???
If the Carrera GT is replaced by the 918
and the Boxster/Cayman by the 718 ...
does it mean that the next 911 will be called 818 ?

You're confusing the Porsche internal classifications with the actual model number.
Regardless of whether the model number changes from 911 to 818 (which I doubt), it is independent of the internal classification of 991, 997, 996, etc...

Unless of course PAG's evolution of the 911 continues farther along the sharp inflection point created by the 991 (longer WB, wider track, larger car) that the car dynamics are no longer 911 car dynamics.
