Many dealerships and tire shops use the max load ratings for tire pressure instead (36 front/44 rear). This could explain the "softness".

Also be sure to drive about 200 miles before tracking to wear off any leftover mold release still on the tires. Some of your softness could be this as well.
Thanks. Actually I asked the tire guy what pressure he'd used, and it turns out he'd inflated them to the max on the door plate. Fortunately I'd read the manual and had him reduce the pressures to 33/39. I believe the old tires were overinflated, but I won't make that mistake again.

One thing I've noticed (and in my case I lowered, got new tires and wheels with wider offsets, changed a lot of variables at once) up to 100 mph it drives really nice...beyond that seems a little more sketchy now. Like ANY gust of wind moves the car around. Actually caught me by surprise just after mounting the tires, was out in the country, ran it up to about 115 or so and scared the **** out me! Not near as firm and planted as I was used to. I did ask the guys at TPC about it when I ordered my DSC pasm control box. He also mentioned the tires needed to be run in a few hundred miles. Again, I lowered the car and made a bunch of changes. But the other day we were getting out of the car and my son shut his door as I looked back and just that little nudge on the door made the car squirm around a little on the tread blocks...like your regular passenger car/tire would do. If it's doing that sitting still, there is surely some movement at speed! This is my first rodeo with new tires for the record! My car came with PS2's and that's all I've known. What I do know is the car is far less planted feeling now. I'm hoping that changes. If I have some time this weekend I'm going to throw my old tires/wheels back on and take a run and see if I can pin it down to the tires...or if the geometry changed with lowering. Yes, had an alignment and all withing spec now.
With that many changes all at once, it might be a bit of a challenge to decipher what's causing any particular effect. I'm a duffer of a driver -- no track and rarely drive over 80mph, so I doubt I'll feel the effects you've felt. I am, however, happy about the smooth, quiet ride, as well as the look of the new tires. (Last time I was dinged for speeding here in California my insurance just about tripled for two years, costing me thousands of dollars, so I tend to take it easy now and rely more on restraint and less on the V1 to keep me out of trouble!)

Can't speak to the spacers, but I recently installed PSSs -- 245 front and 305 rear. You won't be disappointed... the car came alive on the track, and she looks super mean now.

Keep me posted about the spacers + extra width -- I'm thinking about adding spacers to increase my track width for track driving.

What kind of pressure are you running at the track? I have noticed the PSS seem to heat and jump up a lot quicker than the PS2. Even on cool days I'll get them from 37 cold to 41 within 15 min! Thinking maybe I need to start lower cold?

I run anywhere from 6-8 psi down from factory depending on the track temp. So 29-31F, 38-36R

Key is to check your pressure immediately after pulling off the track and getting them to 37/44 hot.
