as i explained the symptoms to the mechanic (which came highly recomended by several people) he assured me that since i was at idle and not driving at speed. the chances are on my side. however until he gets back next week, i wont know for sure. keeping my fingers crossed

Agree about William. He did the IMS upgrade on my 997.1. Good luck.

.i'm no mechanic but my guess would be and IMS or a waterpump. I just bought a 997 to go with my Panamera 4S ...after two years having left my '06, I missed the stick shift and 911...
Since I got an '08, my mechanic told me that I should do an IMS and water pump upgrade... Basically to prevent what sounds like an almost inevitable stall and die.....Apparently this upgrade was designed by a Porsche racing guy in Texas ...anybody know about the success of this to make it more bulletproot.

If you want to check somrthing remove the filter housing and check inside the intake plenum with a flash light If you see excessive oil accumulation on. The left side intake runner it's most likely cause is a failed AOS.

Yes, William is very knowledgable and super economical. I have zero affiliation with him. I just want other members to get a good deal and not raped by stealerships..I will be taking my car soon to him for spark plug change and brake flush.

For reference, my AOS failed also. Throttle body was a mess.

Went to see the car today. Good News!!! The engine is ok. She is almost done. Talked with William for a bit. And he is the most honest down to earth person. I want to thank everyone that pointed me in his direction.
