Spin on oil filter adapter kit

So, based on the solid recommendations found here and other places, I just ordered a complete oil filter adapter kit from LN Engineering for my 997.1 4S.

Quick question: After everything is installed and later, when you do an oil change, how does the adapter stay in place when you try to unscrew the filter? Won't the adapter also unscrew from the engine?

When first installing the adapter, would a few dabs of blue loctite help to keep it from loosening when removing the spin on filter?

Just curious.

Thanks.

The adapter is torqued to 18 ft/lbs. The spin on filter is hand tightened sung, then turned another 3/4 to 1 full turn. This leaves the filter at far less than 18 ft/lbs. When removing the filter it will spin off leaving the higher torqued adapter in place.

+1.
I just installed it a few weeks ago. Pay close attention to the 1/2 to 3/4 turn on the oil filter. If you go more than this rate, the rubber gasket on the steel filter can come undone and leak.

Beautiful piece though. I threw a few rare earth magnets (3) onto the filter to catch any metal particles.

I too thought about a few dabs of blue locktite , but instructions don't call for it.

I've had the LN spin on adapter for about a year now and it works flawless!Like stated above the adapter has a far higher torque than you filter.
