just wondering if you would trade a highly optioned 911S for a mininum optioned aston martin vantage.

 

i would cuz Astons are so rare and it's a bond mobile.
but then again i don't even have a 911s

 

Yah i guess alotta people would trade there porsches up but then again paying that extra premium of 25K for a car that underpreforms a 911S is the price you pay for the aston i guess.

Also, if you read the latest top gear, you will be sold on the Aston vs. the Carrera S - looks better, sounds better, interior better, etc...Unless you track, handling is secondary

 

But isnt top gear pretty biast too english cars?

Top Gear has integrity, they will no give a car a better review just cause its British. Anyhow if you want handling and drive go 997s, if your in a mid life crisis and likey the luxury go AM.
On the other had if you believe in santa, ask for a F430!

 

True but maybe its one of my habits of constantly deciding which car to get but the AM looks so damn pretty..beside the 911 the 911 looks like a flattened beetle...but then again the 911 still looks damn nice in person but the AM proboly looks killer!

Infact if you were to compare the two and pretend they were women you could say the 911 preforms slightly better in bed but the AM is so damn pretty you can forgive it aint as ready to please as the 911.

 

I had the AMV8 on order. Cancelled mine to stay with the 997C2S. I'm finding the more I drive the 911, the more rewarding it gets.

No doubt, the AMV8 is a really great looking car. However, in all other areas it's not as strong as the Porsche.

As for exclusivity... not so sure the AM has that here in England anymore.

To sum up, the 3 main reasons why I cancelled my AMV8 order are...

1. 997C2S is such a good car, difficult to give up.
2. AMV8 has balooned in weight during the development process and is much more GT than sports car.
3. Jaguar are releasing a replica (same design pretty much and same engine) for £30k less very soon.

 

In So Cal, I see a lot of 911s. I don't see a lot of AMV8s, so that is one reason to trade. In addition, I think the AMV8 is an awsome looking car. I assume the 911 and AM are comparable in terms of mileage, age and condition?

Assuming yes to my question, AM is my vote.

 

Whoa, u know Clarkson picked the 911 over the AMV8. His last sentence was "in the 911 your hated, in the Aston, people want to have yoru babies" but he could not get over the fact the Aston in his head, is just a bunch of FOrd/Volvo parts and why is he being asked so much to pay for it.

And in EVO and Car, they still pick the 911 over the Aston.

They didn't say the Aston was a bad car at all, they loved it. But it still can't beat a 911 to them.

380hp from the V-8, I think EVERYONE was expecting a lot more.

And it costs a lot more too.

Well if you read up on the latest Top Gear mag nov'05, the cover story is "The Big Question Aston or Porsche"(997svAmv8)the article states "If Aston hopes to tempt porsche buyers away this this thing it is making a big mistake. 911 owners buy their car to use. "and also " If we were still with the old 996, i think i'd be swayed by the Aston. But the 997 is the best porsche 911 ever..."
Although its not Clarkson, i'm sure you get my previous comment about top gear
