OBX exhaust

Looking for a bit more sound from my 997S... is any one running or had any experience with the rather low priced OBX
porsche 997 exhaust?

Have seen their other products and quality looks very good.

Only found on sound clip/video on Youtube.

i was gonna try it but then i found some used mufflers from another brand. they are just mufflers so the worst that can happen is some of the welds might crack and u have to get them welded at an exhaust shop!!

Isnt the OBX brand sold on ebay? is that the company which sells headers for around $300/400 bucks?

I would second the Gundo hack too, except for the stock cans weighing quite a bit, the sound is nice, while not being over the top and civilized at the same time.

obx makes copies of everything in china and sells cheap on ebay!! if that exhaust wasnt for a porsche they would sell for 300 bucks!! but ive seen personaly on supras obx manifold taking a beating and ive also seen obx header welds cracking on hondas with 100hp its a lottery!!

Ive always stuck with the name brand custom exhaust companies... be it usa made stuff, or German like cargraphic... sure, its a lot of coin, but last thing I'd want is some no name stuff and poor quality on my car.

The name brand systems seem to hold their value too when time to sell/part out. ...like 50-75% of retail.

Metal is metal. I've seen $5,000 exhaust systems fail due to weather or what not at the welds. So to me even a weld is a weld. I don't think it makes a difference. If you like the sound then get it. The additional power is negligible at 355hp

Not bad. Was on suncoast looking for some new chrome exhaust tips because I'm too lazy to try to polish mine. Came across this tread on duckduckgo.

It's hard to go wrong with the Gundo hack as your first step, especially in lieu of an OBX product. Without a doubt, it's the best bang for the buck. For your next step, consider getting high flow cats. I have the Fabspeed X-pipe, and I'm thrilled with the sound and the performance gain. If you're lucky, you can find them used for not much more than new OBX parts.

I keep looking at the OBX and I'm selling myself on them. Tips alone cost as much as the entire muffler and tips. The OBX looks just like the Borla exhaust with the true dual pipes exiting the muffler can.
