Looking for advice = 997.1S or 997.2 Base?
Fellas, I am in between two cars. A little background, I am on the wait list for a GT4 but wont be allocated until 2016, if i even get allocated. So, I want something to play with until that happens. I sold my base 997.1 because I wanted a GT3 but now I want a GT4... Anyway, need something to keep me occupied so I found two good ones.
The 997.2 is about 4K more than the 997.1S
2010 997.2 --- pretty basic but price is right, 33K miles, very clean - my preferred color combo
2008 997.1S --- sport chrono, 42K miles, not my preferred color combo but pretty clean
So I am a bit torn. What are your thoughts. I really want a 997.2S but haven't been able to find one this clean and this color combo.
Thoughts? Do I go with .2 for more reliability over an S?

The 2007 and 2008 MY are among the most reliable ( Consumer Reports) and they have the larger IMS bearing so I would think that should not be an issue. The 2008 S has lots of torque but the other car is newer with, hopefully no DFI issues. In the end the overall condition and your personal preferences on details should be the main decision factors.

Yep, this is where I am leaning.

Congrats! It sounds like the right decision, as much as I love my 997.1.
