Low volume road sound

Think I need new tires but they are semi-new..

At 40+mph I hear a very low but annoying "woa-woa-woa" sound.

Any ideas for a 9+ year Porsche owner?
Thanks,
Kurt

I get the same noise at higher speeds when my wife is in the car. More like "whoa, whoa" though.

Sorry about that. Imo though you are going to have to better describe what is bothering you and narrow in better on the condition of the tires and if you are hearing road noise or mechanical noise.

Does it happen on all surfaces, get louder w speed, does it go away if you push the clutch in or shift into neutral? Worse at higher rpms or lower rpm's.

As for tires reach under inside rear and feel in the inner tread for the wear bars. If they are contacting the road you will get a rumble. The fronts are easier to visually check.

Could be a hundred things. At least.

Agree - sort of. Could be many things, maybe not hundred but definitely many like tires, bearing, axle, etc. Isolating more as to when, how, conditions, gear, will help. Otherwise have a qualified mechanic inspect. They'll find quickly.

Good luck

I stand by my estimate. Actually it could be 124 things if you count each individual wheel bearing

When's the last time you had them rotated and balanced? I'd start there. Could also be a wear thing and just need to have them switched around a bit.

Thanks all for your replies. I'm *hoping* it's just the tires because it's now my daily driver with 85,000+k miles I bought long distance (non-sticky) tires 2 years ago and they should be good for longer than that. I'll get it checkout out.
