Best soruce for Bosche alternator

Alternator and water pump needed replacement at 50 K miles as both were making noise due to clutch failure (alternator) and bearing failure (water pump). Considering age of both I'm thinking I got my monies worth from these original to the car parts. (For those interested, water pump showed no other signs of wear and no damage to the vanes of the impeller. )
Also replaced thermostat for good measure and couple of hoses.

What I need now is a good source for a rebuilt Bosch alternator. First attempt was with an new aftermarket alternator that while advertised as a direct fit and at just $ 200 seemed like a bargain. However it did not have the correct connector to accept the plug from the cars wiring harness so it's going back. Want to go rebuilt Bosch to eliminate similar problem.

Can anyone tell me why there is a difference in the 2007 alternators vs the 2005-06 alternators which are a good deal easier to find than the 07's for manual transmission. MT's have a different pulley on them than the AT's
but beyond that I can't figure out why the '07's require a different and more costly alternator.

PET manual is of no help. Yes the pulley is different between AT vs MT. But for some reason 07+ uses a different part number than -06 for the entire assembly. You can buy just the pulley but you cannot buy an alternator without a pulley. Perhaps the connector changed?

One option, which I have used a lot of times already on my SC and 997, is having an alternator shop rebuild the unit. Much much cheaper than buying a rebuilt unit from Amazon, PepBoys, etc.

As a follow up. found a new Bosch unit at a great price at RMeuropean, no core needed, and have already installed without any issues. Ground shipping was included in the original price and for less that $ 4 more they sent it FedEx overnite.
For the forum police, I have no affiliation with these folks and have no interest in promoting them here other than to let those looking for parts about another potential source.
