Hi folks - been a lurker for about a year and learned a great deal about 911's from these forums and others. Started in July of last year with a base 911 carerra with 28K miles which I enjoyed and tinkered around with, but I always knew at some point I needed/wanted more car...I figured this 1st car I would keep maybe 2 or 3 years. Life isn't bad driving a 911 - any 911.
Then by accident I discovered at a local non Porsche dealer a 2011 low mileage (30K) pristine 911 GTS cabriolet with PDK, Sports Chrono plus, deletion of CL wheels which I didn't want. The car has sand beigh leather interior and basalt black metallic exterior which looks great - for me a pretty perfect car with the options I wanted - heated/ventilated seats, navigation, bose surround sound, electronic seats, and overall great condition. I had the local Porsche dealer do the PPI and it checked out fine as did my vin research. It was not a CPO car so I wanted to see the PPI and service history. It checked out. I made a deal with a fairly reasonable trade on my existing 911 and purchased the GTS. I am loving it. I negotiated a 5 year 60,000 mile platinum warranty with the Porsche dealer who did the PPI.
I need to detail the paint and the car as it has some scratches - as everyone knows black is killer when it is clean, but a royal pain to stay that way. But hopefully it will be a labor of love.
I wanted to introduce myself and say hello - would love to hear some info about the GTS from those who have it. I snapped a few quick cell phone shots and will have more once I detail it - 1st order of business is to install clear side markers.
I have a 2011 GTS as well. I love mine. I previously had a 2007 911, but have had my GTS for 6 months now and I love it lots. Your car is beautiful. Drive it frequently and enjoy it!
