Are You Planning To Buy Another Porsche After Your Current One?
I had a 997.1 and now a 997.2. I am at the crossroads now as to what to do. I have 47k km on the clock and if I am to sell it, it would be the time before passing 50k. The market value of 997s have been going up so I could get good money for the car. But it would be more expensive to buy another 997.
I have decided to keep my current car but will look for a 996 with low mileage to buy in the fall to use as a dd. The 996s are still a bargain and I believe their value will slowly climb over the years so I could sell it later without too much loss.
991 is not an option for me. Way too expensive up here in Canada. I prefer 997s anyway with MT.

in 2010 i bought my first 911 996 , in 2012 i sold it and 2 weeks later bought a 997...wrecked that 997 in 2013 and told myself ok now time to get something more practical, lol..ended up with benz c250, then i said ok i want something more beastly, ended up with an E39 M5, then an E63 M6 then a 650i all this within less than a year, then by july 2014 bought another 996, then later in september my current 997

Although I just purchased mine I could see me n 4-5 years trading up to a newer 911. But I don't see myself ever not owning one now. That awesome feeling you get when you get something you have always wanted!
Hell yes, this is my 3rd 911 and I am desperately waiting for a GT4 allocation next year. I would like to keep my current one for a while and maybe start using it as a DD if I can get a GT4.
I admit to having terrible automotive ADD. I've owned over 20 cars in the past 12 years and every time I say I'm going to keep a car for a long time, well, I don't. However I can say that I most likely will not be buying another Japanese car anytime soon; the Germans have spoiled me for life! I traded my Subaru WRX STi for an Audi RS6 in 2013 and never looked back. Two weeks ago, I traded my heavily modified Subaru BRZ for this 911. Needless to say, I don't miss the BRZ!
I could see myself replacing this car with one of a few options in the next few years:
997 GT3
Cayman GT4
Aston Martin DB9 coupe
Alfa Romeo 4C Spider
Ferrari F360/430 Spider
Ferrari Testarossa (if they haven't ballooned in price)
For now I'm going to enjoy my new-to-me 911 and forget about what comes next!

Good friend of mine recently sold is 996 C4S for a C7. He took delivery in November 2014. I saw him Friday night. He told me he is trading in his C7 for a 997.2 GTS. He just couldn't stay away.
Only the 991 has the 7-speed manual and retractable windscreen.
I checked 'NO', but only because I plan to drive this one until it dies. If and when the engine blows, I'm sending it to Jake Raby for a performance rebuild.
I absolutely love driving it, and have a bunch of mods planned for down the road. I feel so connected to the car, I don't feel any need to 'upgrade' to a newer version.
