Finally in a 997
Finally in a 997
Been lurking in the background for a while just researching/reading and I thought it was time to share. After a long search I found a car that will suit my needs.
I grew up around Corvettes and my family being actively involved in autocrossing and high speed events. My father was the president of the National Council of Corvettes Clubs for many years, so as kids we traveled to many events. As we grew older these travels did not continue as we were in school and my parents business was growing.
So many Corvettes later for both myself and my father, roughly 7 years ago he bought his first 996 C4 Cabrio and it started his love for the cars. Two years ago he traded it in at Isringhausen for a CPO 2011 997 S Cabrio with PDK. At this point I had been around the cars enough to be intrigued, and started my researching(my wife says I do too much of this).
Fast forward to the present, and it being the time to buy a car. I told my father over the winter that he needed to help me find a car that WE could enjoy together and do some DE and track events. He is a member of the PCA and happened to stumble across a listing for a car that was out of my price range, but had a laundry list of options and add-ons that were to my liking.
After several emails back and forth with the owner, who is a true enthusiast off the car went to Zuffenhaus/Eurowerks in NC for a full PPI. We are from the Midwest so it was difficult for us to travel, and finding the right shop was easy as they came highly recommended from several PCA members. Aaron was tremendously helpful in going over every detail of this car, and repairing the little issues that arose, the car was purchased.
No we wait patiently for the last 3 weeks and hoping that the arrival of this great car will happen this week.
The car is a 2005 Carrera S with 26k original miles. Below is a list of mods that were done to the car, most of which were items I would have done, some I would have not for the cost factor. IPD plenum

2 Spare Sets of CCW C10 Wheels and tires
A couple of small pics is all I have right now, from the ad. Better shots hopefully this week.
Now with the arrival of this car eminent I find myself looking for the right air cooled car to add to the bunch. I have had a soft spot for the 964, so if the right car comes along I may jump.
Here is a pic of my current Corvette which has huge history and a long family story that I could share as well. My dads orange car that he has owned since '77 shares space in his barn with it, as well as numerous other cars.
Thanks for reading.

very nice acquisition! i'm jealous. if you ever feel like getting rid of some mods, send them this way lol
When i saw your user name, i would guess you were coming from a history of Honda, not corvette.
Nice collection either way. Welcome!

Thank you.
I started in corvettes and couldn't afford them in college so spent many years in the Honda Acura game.
Major boner here for your mod list on that car!
SO heres the question.... How many cents on the dollar do you figure you got all those mods for left installed on that car?
Nice way to buy a car...saves a ton of money screwing around, going to shops to install, or self install. nice work.
Enjoy it.
