Hey guys, i installed my new K&N intake. When i removed the stock system there was two plugs that were removed. But the K&N only has 1 plug for the Airflow Scensor to plugin to which leaves one plug with no where to go. Is this normal?
When I took out the original there were two cords plugging into the original unit. I unplugged them and installed this and then plugged in the scensor but there's nowhere to put the other one
The extra cable is for the Helmholtz resonator control flap inside the OEM airbox. The flap closes at certain speeds to increase sound. The flap is under the smaller intake hose in the picture. The vacuum control valve is on the backside of the airbox, with the on/off switch on the right side of the airbox. The extra cable plugs into the on/off switch on the right side of the airbox.
The K&N CAI does not have this flap, it's always "loud". Tie wrap the extra cable back upon itself and you are good to go.

I love my KN air filter but use stock intake box as it is fed cooler air from outside, the KN you have is sucking hotter air from inside the engine compartment, I just don't see how this could be an improvement
semicycler is correct that it is the plug for the vacuum valve that controls the resonator. Just FYI, I did get a code when I left that connector unplugged. To fix this, I left the electrical connector plugged into the switch (the one on the right of the old airbox) and plugged the vacuum line instead (whatever you do never leave a vacuum line disconnected!). Then I zip-tied the whole thing to the wiring bundle near it.
