Can anyone help me out on this? Since the Rinspeed kit is lower than the original kit, the shop does not know what to do with the intercooler. If he leaves it in the original position then it will look like crab. What should I do?

 

Paint it black and don't bother moving it.

 

It does look like there is a fitment issue beyond just the intercooler. The housing around the cooler is visable even if it is painted black. Have you tried contacting Rinspeed as this cannot be right.....

 

wait-a-minute... isn't that the radiators guys??? they sure don't look like intercoolers to me and last time i checked Carreras are NA not FI cars...

 

It's the radiator. X51 equipped 997S have a centre radiator. From looking at the press photos, the cars they mounted the kit on, did not have the centre rad.

You can mess with the contrast, brightness etc, there ain't **** in there. EIther that, or they photoshopped it out. I would call them and see what they have to say about it. Failing any answers, I would look into moving it downwards to give a similar fit to the stock bumper.

spoke to rinspeed. They said they forgot to send me a cover to cover the radiator.

And yes, its the radiator. not the intercooler.

 

another option would be to put a painted mesh.

 

Whew - makes sense now!! Enjoy the new kit, can't wait to see pics once its painted!

 

tiptronics have the 3rd radiator also.... ask me how I know <g>?

 

I was told Rinspeed has actually backordered all of our orders and pulled our inventory on that kit because there is a fitment issue (I believe it actually has to do with the radiator)...
