Center Radiator installed

Decided to do some preventive maintenance before the hot summer starts

Jason @ HouseAutomotive was tremendous help from beginning to end. He worked out all the prices with break-downs.
He had the car picked up at my house via flatbed and the crew did a clean and great job !

Definitely recommend HA for all Porsche work

Work done:
- Installed the 3rd Radiator
- Replaced the Water Pump
- Bled coolant
- Replaced the front brake pads & sensors
- Oil Changed
- Replaced the high and low horns
- Total Inspection including charging system diagnosis

They kept it overnight to make sure there are no leaks. When I picked it up, the car was ready to go.

I took the car to Vegas (from LA) last wknd in scorching heat (100+ deg) and the car drove like a champ

No matter how hard I pushed it, I couldn't get the temp to go above 203. (Keep in mind tho that was on the streets/hwys. On track, it may be a different story.)
Sitting in <5mph traffic, it crept up to 225.

The water pump was preventive since there were no signs that it was failing yet. But the Pcar is now 8 years old with 60k+ miles.. so I changed it since I didn't want to worry about it.

I had the plugs and belts replaced last year... so I am good to go for few years on any major work.
Hopefully just oil change, bleeding brakes, and changing tires. knock on wood.

no pics from the shop but took some pics in Jtown parking garage showing the center. lol

stavros is infamous around these parts
I'm surprised you didn't go ahead and put grills in to protect the side and now center radiators, any reason?

On the 997, I'm a fan of the innie and installed mine by pulling the front bumper... I purchased mine from Rennline.

I like my 3rd radiator. My car used to cool itself after shutdown. I haven't seen the fan come on after shutdown after installing the 3rd radiator.

I partially biased to the outtie as zunsports only has that option for my .2, with a 997 car I'd go innie..nice upgrade btw!

HA rocks, wished we had more shops like them in NorCal

Nice job. My next mod is the center radiator. I'm thinking about upgrading to GT3 or Turbo. If I don't then I'm upgrading my 4S. Get the inner grills from Zunsport.

Center Radiator installed

These are the Rennline grills. They're all overpriced in my opinion, but I'd rather have professional quality on something like this.

I did third radiator a couple months ago too.

This pic was taken at Roebling Road Raceway this past Monday. 100F outside and track temp was 150F. Water temp stayed normal at 175 and oil temp stayed below 250 during 30 min sessions.

if u r not upgrading soon, 3rd radiator is a great upgrade in SoCal.

There is an article that shows lack of even cooling which causes early engine scorching in one/two of the cylinders. The Center radiator will aid in better distribution of coolant.

The low-temp thermostat is suppose to help too.. but some say the car warms-up slower to ideal engine temp, which I do not like

the grills look great !
