The car was getting annoying & sometime embarrassing when she tried to start so I decided to take it to the stealer. They found out it was B+ cable melted at starter connection. Somehow I knew that from researching thru this awesome forum. $1100 which was expected. She startup like a champ now. Then they say OBTW, we found a crack in your coolant expansion tank. Its not leaking but seeping. I know it's a common issue for the 996 but on a 997 too? The tank was not even yellow. Anyone else have this problem? Got it replaced for another $1064. Arrrgh... Did not expected that to happen.

Now you need to begin the search for a good independent technician

+1 find an indy for better pricing

And yes the 997.1's coolant overflow tank is prone to cracking. Pretty common in the 2005/06 models because of their age.
