My new-to-me 997S!
Cool! I think if you swapped the glovebox and the panel under the steering wheel with black it would provide a nice contrast with the wheel and shift ****. Right now the wheel looks, how do I say it, out of place?
It's spaced out evenly, so that the gap is symmetrical on both ends. Frankly, for $20 it looks professional and waaay better than leaving it as-is, it just looks it has a solid border. It's a precise cut, so I am certain it is deliberate in order to allow you to chase air out and to make certain that the decal is adhered entirely on the solid surface.
Yeah, I know what you mean. But a black wheel in my case, is better than color matched (tan) as it gets dirty so easily. Also, the factory headliner default color is black alcantara & my floor mats are black, so when you step into the cockpit, your eyes catch that so it seems more flowing than it does in the pic. Leaving the airbag tan, I think, ties it all together. I might also switch the shift boot back to tan and do the same treatment to the e brake.
I got an alcantara e-brake handle from Classic 9 Leather Shop for $120, and it looks great. I had the carbon fiber door sill covers. Honestly, I thought they detracted from the overall look, and replaced them with matte black. For $20, what the hell. I think the black and tan contrast looks great!
I am done!
Hey folks, got the last odds & ends in the mail this AM and went to work to complete my 997 project. Got a new mesh for the ducktail vents. Getty supplied me w. what is essentially "chicken wire" that you can buy at Home Depot. Well, that just won't do for my 911, so I searched and found something that looks more appropriate and less like an aftermarket hack job. I cut two identical 12" x 6" rectangles and secured them from the underside w. 3M heavy duty double sided foam tape. Much better looking IMO and hides more of the innards.

I managed to be the winning bidder of an OEM alcantara handbrake lever! Now the steering wheel, shift **** & e brake are tied together nicely- with the contact parts in black alcantara and the contrasting trim in natural brown. I spent a little more than I would have liked, but it's these little details that matter to me.
After installing the inner door sill overlay and being very pleased w. the results, I ordered the overlay for the outer sill.

Now it's time to just drive her and keep up w. general maintenance.

I believe the "9 Design" overlay stickers are available through Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/9-design-prod...p2047675.l2563
