Installing GT3 seats in 997.1 C2S

Installing GT3 seats in 997.1 C2S

I’ve got a set of 996 GT3 seats in route I plan on installing in my ’07 C2S.The seats should be here next week.I’ve currently got the OEM sport seats I’ll be removing. The stock seas are fully powered (adaptive?).

I’d prefer power fore/aft and tilt but can live with manual sliders if that’s the only option. The GT3 seats have the Porsche side brackets but no rails, sliders or motors coming with them.

I’m planning on keeping the factory 3 point restraint system active. No harnesses for this car.

What are my mounting options for the GT3 seats? Can I get a set of rails/motors to get some power functions for these or is it strictly manual sliders and that’s it?

There's no buttons on the seats. Are these the Fixed back GT3 alien looking seats? I swap one in for track days. It's great. You will need to turn the airbag system off or drive with the warning light on because they lack the side airbags.

Thanks for the reply. These are the alien looking racing buckets. I’m aware of the procedures to clear the airbag lights and passenger weight detection.

If you swap one in for track days, what seat are you removing and what are you bolting the GT3 seat to?

My question is are manual sliders the only option or are there powered sliders available for these seats?

I'm removing my standard memory / heated seat. I have a 996 GT3 seat with OE sliders on Brey Kraus brackets. I've never seen or heard of manual sliders. I can't see where the motors would go to be honest. The seat sits pretty close to the ground.

I was just hoping there might be a power option for the rails but I'm not seeing there is any.. The seats have side brackets currently installed on them ( not sure of manufacturer yet, seats are scheduled to get here in the next 2 days).

That being said , is the only option Porsche manual sliders or are Recaro sliders available? Do the sliders mount to the floor or is there another mount needed to bolt the sliders to the car? I need to know what to source. Thanks.

The sliders mount to the side brackets. Then that gets mounted to the floor I believe.
I don't put much thought into it to be honest. It's four torx bolts and the harness connection for the seatbelt and that's it.
