Has anybody seen anything like this before?

Almost every time I start the car the stereo system resets. It sometimes will also restart randomly while driving.

Any help would be great!

 

Not sure how helpful but the only time I have noticed any odd behavior from my 996 Turbo's radio -- coming on upon engine start after being switched off before turning the engine off previously -- or the radio being on but quiet yet all the controls appear to work just fine -- has been a precursor to a bad battery.

 

I was thinking the exact same thing and in fact my battery to die.

However I just replaced the battery with a brand-new one and it still seem to happen.

Could it be a sign of a bad alternator?

 

ramdom restarts of pcm3 is bad sign, they do die this way (can be repaired). but if it restarts at start and battery is new - think about starter, battery wires etc, alternator dont work at start.

 

Mine does this too from time to time and I am pretty sure it has to with Bluetooth. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone and see if it still does it

 

sure not. ask for warranty from dealers.

 

Mine does this on my 06 occasionally. What it does more often - no one is going to believe me - but it goes to this country radio station on its own like once a week. Doesn't matter if your on am (news radio) or fm, it just automatically goes country on me and I have to wait a moment and then change it back. I have been planning to get a plug and play from Delray custom and am really just waiting for it to get bad enough to justify it.
