Great driving weather....
Great driving weather....
Just got to my office after a nice 110 mile drive. 71 degrees, crystal clear blue sky, top down, sound of the PSE behind me, and no traffic = nirvana. There are just some days that make you appreciate the little things.
Crap...too much of a good thing, is there such a thing??
We're having a drought over here in Raleigh, NC. We've had mandatory water restrictions for two weeks. Can't even wash the car!
Local gov has put a nix on mobile detailers as well. So, yes, the weather is nice, but my car looks like crap.

I'll try to dig up a pic of last year
I have a lot of Canadian buddies from going to dental school @ Northwestern. One of my friends lives in Sault St. Marie and he said that he still had snow in June or July.....
Whoa! That's more than us!!!
Usually, pretty much all of the snow is gone by april. Some patches remain until may but that's it, thank god. Always a relief to take out the cab after nearly 6 months. And the heated seats come in handy!

That's a nice porthole you got there..... must be rough negotiating corners.
To tell you the truth, I also enjoy snow. Everybody complains about snow and there are definitely some drawbacks like no Porsche for a few months but with a decent front wheel drive car and good all weather tires, it's not that big of a deal. Being from CA, I enjoyed the 4 years that I spent in Chicago.
My favorite things about winter weather while I lived in Chicago.
1. There's nothing like having 4 REAL seasons.
2. Walking on Lakeshore Drive in a forward 45 degree tilted position because of the wind.
3. Watching it snow upwards instead of down because of the wind against the high rise building.
4. Driving all the way to Boyne Mtn Michigan to go skiing and saying, "That's it?" when pulling up. You could see the one hill as you pull up.
5. Almost killing myself by going bike riding at night in freezing weather. My buddy and I were doing about 20 mph or so with a strong headwind and we did not see the ice built up on the sidewalk next to Lakeshore Dr. If my buddy and I had slid 2 more feet, we would have slid into Lake Michigan.
6. Doing somethin stupid like going to a car wash when it's below freezing outside. I figured the car wash was open so it must be ok. Got the car washed drove off and parked it at a store. Locks had water in them and were frozen. Door seals had water on them and froze shut. Trunk was frozen shut. Just sat there with a Homer Simpson look on my face.
7. Thinking.... What's the big deal? It's not that cold in Chicago until the ambient temp dropped below 0 and then added a windchill factor of -30 degrees. I thought I was seriously going to get frostbite! Even then everybody was saying... it's warmer next to the lake because of the lake effect.
8. Thinking.... "This has to be as cold as it gets", until going to Kenosha, WI and thinking... "I was wrong!"
Such great memories! I serieously enjoyed every minute of my 4 years in Chicago. The sad thing is that last winter I had an opportunity to take my kids to Big Bear Mtn to see some snow. We get all the way up there and finally we see a few patches of snow and there are a few inner-tubing places that had made some snow. We wait 1 hour just to get into the parking lot, go in at a cost of $35 each and there is a little hill of hard packed ice with watery slush at the bottom. What a contrast! My wife and I are looking at each other thinking.... what a joke!

I am cold here in Northern Cali and the weather has only gotten mild, that Porsche covered in snow above is unreal to us...That car is covered in snow in Madison Wisconsin, is that our famous 'cheeseheads state' ? LOL Enjoy
