split front dust boot on 07 c4s
split front dust boot on 07 c4s
Has anyone replaced a dust boot on the front of a C4s? Passenger side outer. Can the shaft be removed without detaching parts of the steering and or shock assembly. It looks like there is enough room to remove the shaft without the head ache of removing steering linkages?
Do they sell refurbished drive shafts or do I have to rebuild?
Any advise will help me determine which way I go with this. I have access to a lift. Professional shop or my garage?

Some results from my search.
>no rebuilt shafts available, could send it in but would take a couple of weeks to come back and at 625.00 can.
>Porsche sells the shaft for 750.00 can, or boot for 60.00.
>pelican- boot kit for 50.00 us. plus shipping [no complete shaft option]
>yes I would have to take steering linkages off.
Decided to take it to Porsche for 2 hr service charge [140.00 hr] re & re the whole shaft. Possible boot only @ .5 hr + and 60.00 for parts. Good chance it will be the deep pocket option.
+ 4 wheel alignment @ 300.00 Can.
