2008 problems

Hey all- I'm new to the forum, picked up an 08 carrera 4s a few weeks ago. I'm all covered under standard 3 month dealer warranty, but wanted to run this buy everyone before bringing it to the shop. I ran through a quart of oil in about 250 miles.. No leaking no burning smell... I added another quart and it brought it to the full mark, then about 70 miles later was down to the half mark so added a little more. After driving another 20-30 miles I parked it and put it in the garage and now every time I start it I'm getting thick white/bluish smoke that smells like oil. I know they have high consumption, and I know that you can get white smoke on startup... But this does not seem like normal Porsche stuff to me. Any help as to possible cause would be appreciated. Thank you

How does one determine if the oil consumption is "normal" or there is a problem? When I first got my 08 C4 Cab, new in 09, it burned quite a bit of oil. I no longer recall the amount but let's say 2-3 quarts per 10k miles. After a while, it settled in and burned a little over a 10k period but not so much that I had to add between oil changes. Shortly after crossing the 100k mark I noticed increased consumption and now seem to be burning a quart at 2500 miles. Total mileage is 118k and driving patterns are very consistent at about 400mi/wk.

Does this sound like aging and "normal" burn or should I be suspicious of AOS? Something else?

Thanks

My 2008 C2S has almost 22K miles and uses oil at the rate of about 1 qt per 6000 miles
