997.2s with 5000mi. Clunk noise up front?

This clunk noise is most noticeable when traveling at slower speeds and when the left front wheel hits bumps, sound like a large component is loose in front of the steering wheel at waist level or above.

Shop diagnosed the issue being the lower steering shaft and I located a used on and the installed it for $300. Plus $50. For the diagnosis.

This did not eliminate the clunk noise so I will be retuning it, after spending $350 to R&R the wrong part what should I expect the service shop to do for me?

Do I keep paying if the service does not correct the problem??

Is the bump stop located on the top of the front strut/shock

How can I tell if that's the problem, sounds like it forward of the steering column or above my knees.

FYI

Clunk noise was from a bad front sway bar link.

Free diagnostic since they missed it the first time.

$90 labor and $80 for the part.

Thrilled that its fixed, it was so annoying
