When is Michelin embargo on Pilot Super Sport ending up?

I just realized that I need to replace my rear tires very soon. Of course, Tire Rack and Discount Tires are out of Michelin Super Sport.

What is going on there and when will they end that silly game?

What are you guys using as a replacement 305/30-19 for C4S?

Thanks
Yves

I couldn't wait so I ended up buying some slightly used ones on ebay. I heard it's going to be sometime in late November before they will be in stock, think I read that over at rennlist.

I just heard from tire rack. I bought them about a month ago and was waiting on a delivery date. They have no word on 305s but expect 295s by the end of the year.

I got a set of Continentals for my ride. Could not wait myself. Couldn't handle the Hankooks anymore.

I couldn't wait any longer...and given the long delay and uncertainty...I pulled the trigger on a set of Pirelli Winter Sottozero's (probably overkill for the NOVA/WDC area, but I too was leaning towards the Michelin Super Sports).

I'm still confused about why there are no Michelin PSSs to be had in our sizes. I tried buying some in late July and wound up with Bridgestone S04s (I'm happy with them).

But why no PSSs for such a long time?

I second the S04s. I waited and ultimately had to get something. A million times better than the re05as which I absolutely hate.

Tire Rack told me December for the Pilot SS. Needed tires now so I also purchased the Continental's.

Went into Americas Tire in Simi Valley on Wednesday to order a set of PSS thinking it would be awhile....got a call the next day that the tires arrived at the store the next day. They were installed today!

Fronts are May 2015 and rears are August 2015.

Thought I'd be lucky and it would be a Christmas gift at best but I beat Halloween.

Guess that aero kit has moved up on the Christmas list!

Tire rack has been out of PSS's for about 4 months now. I also went ahead and got my a set of Nitto Invo - brilliant tires - $1100 for a set of 4.

Someone remind me why Michelin stopped shipping these tires for half a year?

AFAIK Michelins are made in production batches. Car manufacturers get first dibs on tires, then everyone else.

In September of this year I placed a call to Michelin North America to see what was going on. I was told that Michelin had elected to consolidate its two high performance tire plants into one location. This required both to be shut down (happened some time in February of 2015). At the time of the call, the rep I spoke with had no visibility into delivery dates (his forecast looked out by one month).

I certainly hope that the due date of later November/December is true. I will be switching to my winter setup in about 8 weeks. It would be nice to pick up some PSS while my summer rims are off the car.

That's horrible planning, they lost out on a lot of business b/c of it.
