Hi guys,
Anyone ever had problems getting to the lug nuts on the Avant Garde Ruger mesh wheel? especially the rear wheel?
It's a pretty tight area for the socket adapter to fit. I manage to do it successfully in the summer but now in the dead of Chicago winter that damn socket wont fit.
I don't want to force the issue because the wheels are black.

Any suggestions or workarounds?
Do you have stock lug BOLTS? or did you install studs and are not using special keyed lug nuts?
If you have normal lug bolts, then just get thin wall sockets.

I use the bolts that came with the wheel. They are not like the stock bolts. The wheel came with a special socket adapter. I suppose that's what you mean by thin wall socket. That's what I'm using now. Worked before not working now. I know the wheels contract in winter but this is ridiculous.
Are you saying that you cannot get the socket into the lug hole on the wheel - hard to believe the tolerances are that tight. How abut a picture of the socket.
You need the tuner lugs and socket for the Ruger wheels.
Pep boys has the sockets in stock usually and I think advance or autozone sometimes.
I have two of them, ones that came with the lugs has a coating on them which made it a little thicker and yes they are very tight in the hole but both fit the lugs no problem.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I managed to get one front wheel off after a lot of effort. The socket just would not go in the holes for the back wheel.
I'll send pics tomorrow.

Try getting another socket.
I'm not sure what you mean by tuner lugs. Are those different from the lugs that came with the rutger wheels (which are themselves different from the lugs for stock)?
Are these a third type of lugs ?
I'll go to the stores to see if they have the sockets. Could be mine is too thick even though it came with the wheels.

Tuner lugs are the lugs that came with the Ruger wheels.
I'm sure you can see that the stock lugs are too big and won't fit the hole.
The socket adapter for the tuner lugs (ie your new lugs) are sold at pep boys and some other auto stores and are often thinner material than what may have come with yours. Like I said mine had a bit of a coating which although was only a few mm thick was noticeably harder to squeeze in the holes.
Never mind. I see you got them from wheel dynamics. I bought my wheels from them. Those are the lugs that should have come with the wheels in the first place! Frustrating. First the damn things come off when I'm driving now they won't come off when I'm not driving !!
Remember when replacing wheel bolts be sure to match the "seat" type to the wheel. Porsche OEM wheels have spherical seats. The ones in that picture above are conical. Not sure what type your aftermarket Ruger wheels have, just check them and match the lug bolts to them.
very good info Semicycler.... That s what I didn t like about that wheel, the fact you had to use different bolts. I doubt they did a better job than Porsche.
