Thoughts on going non-S? Could get in quite a bit cheaper...if my ultimate goal is to pony up to a Turbo or GTS, eventually maybe just a base now then turbo after.

A base Carrera is a very fun, rewarding car. There's nothing wrong with that strategy. Many people prefer the simplicity and the lighter steering feel offered by the base C2.

Vice clicking congrats. I too had the same dilemma and went with a white 09 2s for a few reasons: white was my color of choice, I wanted the advantage of the pdk and a 09 came up at a great price, ims issues were supposedly not so prevalent in the DFI engine (my biggest fear), the updated interior / PCM was important (Aircon levers wearing me out just bothered me too much). Hope you enjoy your 2009!!

White C2S is a beauty, I have a soft spot for white cars. Post pix when you're ready.

Heh, that's because there is no IMS in a DFI 9A1 engine. :-) So actually it is 100% impossible to have an IMS failure in a DFI 9A1 car since the part is not there to fail.

Yah, not a heck of a lot that can go wrong with your car. I'm on my second DFI PDK car and they've been the most reliable cars I've ever owned. FWIW, I absolutely love your car. the red mirrors are awesome and the contrasting red/black interior is my favorite interior color option. You've got yourself a winner.

Do yourself a favor though, get a Sport Design Paddle steering wheel. A real paddle shift wheel makes the car even that much more fun. I know you have the multifunction wheel, but there's an option to move those controls onto the steering column if you upgrade to the sport design.

Thanks for the compliments! I self-wrapped the mirrors in red, and it was a challenge. I guess one sentence can sum it up. "Good from far, far from good" because of the way the mirrors are shaped, I had to use multiple pieces of wrap to cover the whole thing. I'm going to remove it and then try to plasti dip it instead. I just checked out the Sport design wheel and it looks nice!! I looked around and Techart has a kit for $650. Have you done the mod? can you send a pic?

Here's a pic another member requested of my seats, but it shows the sport design wheel installed in my 09 C4S

The Sport Design wheel can be purchased from a dealer such as Suncoast. It'll probably run you $1200 for a black leather one and a bit more if you wanted a red leather one. You can also find them online for a good deal cheaper (ebay or marketplace here on 6speed). Swapping out the wheels on a car WITHOUT multi-Function controls is simple. Swapping out one with multi-function controls is more involved and needs to be done by a dealer probably. From my understanding to keep your multi-function support they send you a new stalk on the steering column.

The paddles are very intuitive. You pull the left one to downshift and the right one to up-shift. (as it should be) It makes you feel like you're driving an F1 car. :-)

Great pic and angle. Love your seats! And steering wheel looks sweet. I don't want to give up the PCM controls so I'll delay this upgrade for a bit longer.

Have the car now. Should be a picture in here. Never posted a picture before so we'll see how this goes.

It's well optioned. Highly enjoyed my 30 minutes of driving it so far. Was very sad to see my prev Beamer of 10 years go....but I'm sure I'll get over it soon

Congrats! You should be over your Beamer in about 20 miles of driving your new Porsche and never look back. Nice car.

You say you are in Canada.
Anywhere near Toronto?
Purchased my 2008 911 C4S Cabriolet 6 speed from Pfaff Porsche. It is actually in Woodbridge. My salesman was Mark Basili. He drives a Porsche himself and is extremely knowledgable about all Porsches.
Give him a try if you are close.
Tell him Paul Knight gave you his name.
Good luck with your search, they sure are fun to drive.
Have mine with me down here in Florida. It's made for this weather.
