911 r
Yes! The perfect 991 .... Would be the perfect 911 if they could shrink it 9/10ths and put a properly styled 911 rear end on it. Restores my faith that one day I might own a new 911 as it looks like Porsche woke up and realize MT and NA are prerequisite for a real drivers 911. Now if they can only get the styling and size right, I may trade my 997 someday. But this 911R is very, very nice - more than 991 of these and priced for the rest of us, please!

I don't think one should buy it (If you can get one, and not spend stoopid money) as a track car, you might be disappointed.
Before heads explode, I said "as a track car", it is a niche car, nice to see Porsche offer a manual/NA car, but the price is just going to be astronomical.
918 owners don't care, they can afford a 918.
For the money, I'd take a GT3 and a TT, prob. get both for the same as this car.
But, the fine folks at Porsche are masters of marketing...
It is gorgeous, but the price is going to be a little prohibitive. No, the price is going to VERY prohibitive.

Was watching all the videos last night. Absolutely love how beautiful it is without a wing. The 911 was designed without a wing and outside of a racecar, a proper 911 should be wingless, no cab, no tip/pdk, no targa and no 4wd. This is the perfect 991. Too bad it's going to be such a niche car. I bet if they did a slightly toned down version as an option for the c2s, they would sell a ton of them (no PCCB, centerlocks, 400hp vs 500, etc, etc). The visual effects could easily just be applied to the 991 and be almost as good and almost as sexy.
This is why I want a gt3 front bumper so bad, but can't really do it without the rear wing. Which is such a bummer

Spoke to my dealer about the R and he said they are all spoken for before the were released. All 918 owners get first option to buy. Of course 98% already have and I think the dealer has an option to allocate based on purchase history from that dealer.
I was told that a non 918 owner was offered to buy the R because he has bought 16 plus cars from them and would pay cash. Plus he left 100k deposit for it. Non-Refundable. 😜

Why is everyone running to this car when porsche will offer the gt3 in manual. I see this happening GT3-> GT3 RS -> 991 R -> manual 991.2 gt3
I guess if money is no matter. Trust me I love the idea of the 991 R, narrow body, great gt3 bits and manual but I hate the over exclusivity of this car. I get limited but this is at a new level, I feel it almost harder to get a 991 R. Vs a 918, and it wasn't even out yet.
