997.1 Steering Wheel onto 987.1?

Hi guys,

I posted this over at the Cayman/Boxter forum, but thought I might ask here as well.

A Cayman friend would like to know if it is possible to install a steering wheel from a 2006 997 to 2006 987? If so, is it just a straight swap?

Thanks.

Yes it will fit. PET diagrams show identical part numbers for some of the steering wheels between a 997.1 and a 987.1.

All the normal rules for swapping steering wheels apply though. Things like triangle airbags do not fit on round sport steering wheels, MF cannot be added to sport steering wheels, tip wheels fit a non-tip car but does not turn it into an automatic (lol!), and so on.
