Quick ECU tune question
Hello all,
I've currently got only a K&N air intake; on my list of mod plans (engine related at least) are IPD Plenum, 200 Cell Cats, Headers, and ultimately fabspeed exhaust. My question is...I was going to get a tune from Eurocharged - will it matter if I get the tune right now vs. wait until after all the bolt ons are completed? Will the tune learn the new adds or will it essentially need to be reflashed in order to realize the most gains. I had Eurocharge flash my SL500 and it was an appreciated and noticeable improvement.

Most of improvement from aftermarket tune comes from change in throttle tip-in (ala Sport mode) not significant hp increase. Really the tune should come last after you have changed intake and exhaust parameters enough to make it worthwhile. The stock ecu has more than enough flexibility to deal w the majority of the stuff you will be doing. Do the tune now and your car may feel more responsive to the seat of your pants but don't count on extra horsepower.

Yea, Eurocharge I believe claims something like a 12-17hp increase or something...something that is not really noticeable beyond responsiveness. On my SL it was a dyno proven 30hp and 40 lb/ft of torque gain..which on that car I felt it.
