I have a (basalt) black 997 and am wondering if the smoked or clear would be better. I don’t want too much “bling” but I also want the lights to be clearly visible and I don’t like that “murdered out” look (i tried smoked tail lights on my black car and it looked too mean).
Anyone have clear ones on black? Or smoked ones on black?
I like the oem look. I put some $11 high powered amazon led H11 bulbs. They provide a decent amount of light for the meager fog lights. Just get the LED bulbs with the fans on the back that provide real lumens. The other H11 led bulbs without the large fat bases produce enough like as a parking light. No bueno.
Trying to get these on my car but encountering a bit of drama...
So I purchased the clear ones and they arrived quickly. Look great except one had scratches on the lens and the led bulbs for the fog light didn’t all work.
So so I sent just that one back and they sent a replacement - but it’s a slightly different model - different LEDs and different brightness & amber color.
The first set wash much brighter and the “new” replacement I got is noticeably dimmer (and the led chips look different).
so now I have to send everything back and get what will hopefully be a working and matching set.
This is from HDCAuto on EBay. Did anyone else order from them?
At this point I’m considering giving up and maybe ordering from Delrey who, although almost twice the cost, have a good track record.
Finally got a matching set. Nice and bright (had to turn exposure down to minimum for it not to get blown out). The thin bar is bright enough to even see at dusk/dawn which is perfect.
One thing I've noticed: when the car is turned on with the fog lights and the engine off, there is a barely noticeable “blink” or dim flicker that occurs about every 2 seconds. Has anyone else noticed this?
