997 LED fog lights THOUGHTS?

I am contemplating upgrading to the LED fog lamps that you find on ebay. Seem to be from Taiwan so not sure of the quality. They run roughly $300 with free shipping but are those the ones I see people installing on the forums? Would love to know if anyone has installed the ones off of ebay and what their experience has been like.

Thanks!

I bought mine on ebay. My first set within 2 months, one of the LED burned. I don't know if its from my extra wiring or a bad batch. So I bought a second set. So far everything works knocking on wood. I bought the smoked version. It look better on dark color cars, IMO. What I don't like about it is the center parking strip. They're not very bright. I hardly use it any way. So it doesn't matter to me. I used the foglight as DRL.

I have the same LED light. How do you set the fog as DRL?

that's one simple solution you can do from the link above. I just didn't want to tap/cut into the factory wires. I bought an auto on/off DRL module & wired the LED foglights to the module. I used an easy connect plugs & piggyback to the LED foglights. The cool feature about this module is that lights comes on for a few second when the door's open, turn on/off the alarm.

Which auto on/off DRL module did you buy? Sounds like a good idea.

The smoked version looks much better! Where did you get your front lip spoiler from? Really hard to find ones for the stock 997 without the GT3 upgrade.

The spoiler looks like a GT3 Tek product (poly type). I have one too, great fit.

I bought a Pilot Intella-Bright DRL module on ebay a few yrs ago. (2nd pic above). I don't think they sells them anymore. Just search on ebay for DRL relays, module, switch, etc. & look for the auto on/off one. Don't buy the cheap one as they don't last very long.

Where did you get the smoked version, I have the same color car and I was going to do the same thing, but I was going to have to just tint them with film I thought.

There is another solution that is less than $2 and requires no adapter or cutting of wires.

See post #221

I have had mine on for over a year no issues and it's easily reversible and stealth.
