I need you guys help -997

Hi Guys,

I got my first Porsche and it is 2005 997 1
And I love it but I have a one problem.

Passenger side window - when I open the door, window suppose to go down 1/4" but it doesn't go down. So I can't close the door.
And after search, I find that I have a micro switch problem and today, I replaced the micro switch.

Not it does same, some times, it goes down sometimes it doesn't. Beside this I just got a new problem that after I replaced the micro switch, drive side window doesn't go up after close it. I mean when I open it, it goes little down and when I close it, it has to go up but it doesn't.

What do you guys think?

All I did was disconnect the battery and replaced the micro switch on passenger side.

Thank you.

By way of review, when you pull on either the inside or outside handle the window should drop. This is a sign the door handle switch is working.

If you do not pull the handle enough to open the door, but instead release the handle the window should go back up. This is also a sign the door handle switch and the door latch switch are working.

If you go ahead and open the door the window should stay down. This is a sign the door latch switch is working.

But if the window goes up after the door is open this can be a sign of a problem with the door lock controller. This is a rather large plastic/alum. box with some electronics in it.

When my Boxster was manifesting the symptom of the window either failing to drop or worse dropping when the door was opened but going up shortly afterwards the tech told me he thought the problem was the door lock controller but he would test the switches to confirm.

He pulled the error codes from the security module and these pointed to the door lock controller and he pulled the door card and checked the other switches and they were fine, so he replaced the door lock controller and all the weird behavior stopped.

You can try replacing the switches but be prepared to if these don't help to replace the door lock controller.

Oh, be sure the door is dry. And when you work on the door innards be sure the door membrane is intact and properly glued to the door. This membrane keeps any water from accumulating in the door where the water can cause all kinds of electrical problems.

Thank you.

This afternoon, it works somehow.
But don't know and worry about it won't work sometimes.

Sometimes it works but sometimes, passenger side window doesn't go down when I open the door.
Anyway, I will check door lock controller as well.

Thank you again.

There is a procedure in your owners manual for "indexing" the windows, at least there is for my 2008, and that may help.
