Ask him for the time slips. There are several on the boards that have seen them.

Actually, I'm just waiting for the Stage V. Same dyno, same track, same strip, same driver and same day.

Come on. Stage 5 doesn't make the power you claim, it never did. I am not going there to "beat you". I hope you don't think that this is a "challenge". My hope is that the meet shows that our car for what it is, a $30K system that makes the power that we say it does. I don't want to make "805 HP", it was never my intention. If I wanted to make a 1 off motor it would cost anyone interested $80K and I would guarantee a reliable 850 HP! Anyone???

Todd,

I don't take it as a "challenge." It is plain fun. Everyone knows that any number of things can change an outcome. Stephen and I were actually getting a laugh because he knows at my last strip outing I only did 11.4 @ 126 mph. Yes, there was a head wind, it was 100 degrees, we were missing fifty hp due to the CO2 bulb acting as an obstruction and my tires were spinning on my wheels but none the less that's what happened.

There will be no way in our track event I will run my car in the 682 mode. It simply would not stay on the track or handle as well as it will in a lower power mode. As for the strip and the dyno, my mode two at 614 rwhp should be a pretty even contest with the Stage V.

Yes, I believe you have the ability to build a 850 hp motor.

1/4mile times are a very strange thing.. I can show you my timeslips where I ran 11.6 @ 124 in a tiptronic with ONLY a chip (the upsolute one). Different tracks, different days, different conditions... Stephen's promised to make mine go 10s or else he said he would use Nitrous...

Alex,

Stephen would rather die than ever use N20. You really don't want to push this. Stephen can be rather stubborn at times and we really want to keep him around.

I appreciate your confidence in us being able to build 850 HP. All I am saying is I am not interested in "winning" with the stage V. That is weird for me to say b/c I am always looking for a challenge and I am always trying to figure out a way to compete to win a challenge. If I had a HUGE budget to build a car to win an event, I would guarantee there would be no competition. As stated before, I am happy with our car being there to prove that $30K will get you 700 HP

Stephen,

Think about it. Someone can have a Stage IV or IV GT. According to the claims that is 600 or 640 hp respectively. For under $5,000. they can add N2O to the above packages and have 675 or 715 hp respectively by installing a NOS 5130 kit.

I can see Stephen's anxioty attack coming already.

Maybe, but lets think about it. Have you ever seen a car racing at LeMans or Daytona racing with NOS??? It has its place but on a $40K 996TT motor? Stage IV or 4GT could run and make it in an endurance race ( with some other internal mods ) and live / compete. You would have to stop every lap and fill the NOS bottle to stand a chance

To be honest Chad in the hundreds of motors I have built I have not ever blown anything that wasn't my own. I have built everything from 2.8 RSR motors to 3.8TT motors and 996TT motors. I am not one that needs a helper from a bottle. My motto is if you have to squeeze the bottle it was because you couldn't do it any other way. No disrespect, but a bottle is a cheap way out with serious cost. The goal in what I build is as long as you can go with the most HP available. Everything has a cost and I am not about ready to create something that will come apart. I place a warranty on my work unparalleled to anyone in the industry. I can not and will not risk the bottle. BTDT on many American iron. After enough miles problems do occur. I don't really consider my self stubborn, rather conservative. I have made some big HP as known by many and it still remains on the roads today. Besides, when the light turns green I haven't the time to fiddle with a switch, gotta go
