Front Wheels - Spacer Maximum Size- Lobsters
Front Wheels - Spacer Maximum Size- Lobsters
I'm currently running ECS spacers with 15mm rears and 5mm front. My car is lowered on H&R Springs and I'd like a more flush look all the way around. I'm not unhappy with the rears, although they could maybe go slightly further, however, the fronts have no doubt more room available.
Would 10mm work in the front without rubbing? What's optimal front and rear?
I was prepared to order the 10mm, searched and found several with my current setup.

This is a loaded question because it depends upon your car - how much it's lowered, tire sizes (295's vs 305's), wheel widths, offsets, and most importantly your current alignment specs (camber). Camber is adjusted in stock form by moving the tops of the struts inwards in the front. This pulls the tops of the wheel into the wheel well allowing for a larger spacer. The rear has an eccentric bolt pushing the LCA outwards at the bottom of the wheel. The effect of more camber is less pronounced for fitting spacers. Lowered and more negative camber means you can fit a larger spacer.
But don't worry there is an easy answer - measure your gap with a ruler then add that many mm's via a spacer. Generally 15mm in back and 7-12mm in front for stock is flush. Dropped cars or more negative camber go higher. I run WB rears with 295's on a NB car so it's 16mm equivalent in back (no actual spacer - WB's have a different offset than NB). When I had 305's in the same setup it poked out a bit. Up front I have a 15mm spacer. No rubbing. Carrera Sport II wheels but I think they are the same size/width/offsets as lobsters.

Thanks for a very informative response. It's lowered on H&R and the suspension was aligned - I suspect camber is in normal range. I'm going to measure as stated and I suspect I'll be happier with 10mm up front. Thanks again.
Edit - I'm going to see if the 15mm will work - would love it flush with no rubbing.

Just had a thought - you already have access to 15mm spacers. Temporarily swap your fronts and rears to test fit 15mm up front.
You might be able to stack your 15mm and 5mm to test fit 20mm spacers too. But I wouldn't drive like this as the lug bolts will not have enough thread engagement.

Depends upon the widths of the wheels. Those offsets happen to match WB offsets but you do not list the widths. 9" wide with 57 offset is a different fitment than 8" wide with 57 offset.
I have OEM WB wheels on a NB car. The fronts are 8.0" wide with ET57. Rears are 11.0" wide with ET51. Rears are flush with no spacers and 295 tires. When I had 305 tires it poked out a bit. Fronts fit but need spacers to be flush and match the look of the rears. In my case with 1+" drop and -1.7 deg camber I use 15mm spacers.

I installed my front 15mm spacers and PERFECTION flush with no rubbing, even at full-lock. I was concerned given I'm lowered on H&R springs. I'll post pictures this week.
sweet!
i have no idea why front 7mm seems to be what the majority recommend on on the front 8x19+57 wheels. even conservatively i would say 10-12mm not a problem.
