I am new to the forum so apologies for any missteps in advance.

My 997.1 2007 C4S convertable has developed an intermittent electrical problem. I recently had the cable to the starter motor replaced so don't know if this is connected. The fault now is that the car will initially start and seemingly run OK. After a while when it is warm, if I switch the car off, and then go to start it again, all the power goes off. Like everything, no door lights, dash lights, nothing, its like the battery has been disconnected. If I leave it overnight, all is well again. I know there is a current distributor in behind the bulk head but is there anything in between this and the foot well fuse board which will disable all the power? I have been unable to find a wiring diagram anywhere on line so any assistance on where to look would be most appreciated! Thanks all Nick

 

I would take it back to whoever did the starter work. Sounds like you have a loose cable connection somewhere, probably related to that recent work. How fresh is your battery? When batteries fail, they can't handle a load and the largest load is the one when starting the car. The load from the starter may essentially be killing the battery, then when it sits, it recovers a little so the lights and other things work again. I'm sure they disconnected the battery when replacing the starter. First thing to do would be to check that the terminal connections to the battery are all the way on and tight.
