Out with the old in with the new

Well guys after 2 years of ownership I had enough of my 09 4S Cabriolet. And finally sold it. Was almost in tears watching someone else drive off with my childhood dream car. And true to form like a crack fiend I only lasted 3 weeks before my Porsche junkie itch kicked in. But I was actually looking at replacing my 911 with a coupe after about a year of ownership. I ended up with a 2011 4S, manual that became available 3 weeks after I had sold my 09. Pretty much same options as my cabriolet. And the best thing I love about these 997.2 are how easy they are to work on. Which was my deciding factor in which generation I was going to go with. Had also looked at a 15 Targa 4S but was alittle to steep, And would have had to finance a portion of the purchase which they were asking $119k. I was also in the market for a daily driver and ended up with an 08 Cayenne gts. Which I love as a daily.

Perfect choice of cars and both black! Your new 997 looks amazing. I have a 2014 Cayenne diesel and just got a 2007 997. Both black.

Just that it was the cabriolet. Was fun and enjoyed it. But the convertible has wear marks on the sides ,and always worried about getting caught out in the rain while traveling.(caught In rain heading down to dragon tail and overnight while in DC) First time out in the coupe towards the tail end of our 3 hr drive we were caught in a thunderstorm and I didn't think twice about it. Also treating the top is more involved than just washing like you do rest of vehicle. So for me personally I'd prefer a coupe over the cab.

Nice pair - I have a 997 Coupe and a 957 Cayenne too. The coupe profile with the curved rear window really ties to the evolution of the model and just can be duplicated with a Cab. Is your GTS a MT or Tip? I almost bought a GTS just for the stick, but in the end decided the 550 HP of the Turbo S outweighed the manual tranny for how we would use the car.

My GTS is tip , on my sport cars I can't go with out a manual transmission. But for my daily driver I didn't want a manual. With traffic manual gets old fast especially when you have a very heavy clutch. My new coupe is manual but is a weekend warrior. with hydraulic assist heavy traffic is easy but I'm so use to the feel of a heavy clutch that it feels off. Just some getting used to I guess.

Well done! I just drove a 2015 Carrera for the weekend and it felt big and kinda like a normal car, except for the cornering and acceleration. Going to stick with the 997.
