Sprots Chrono with red face

I just ordered the red face from FVD for my sports chrono. A couple of questions.

1. Does anyone have any do’s or dont’s on installing it myself? I’m going to use the DIY from USMC_DS1 on Rennlist. Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on the install.

2. Please share your thoughts on if you like the sports chrono with the red & white dial or all red. Here are two different pictures.

I just recently installed red seatbelts & am currently currently saving for the red gauges.

Thanks,
b

My understanding is that this is not an easy job for anyone including DIY types. I considered it and not even my Porsche dealer with some of the best techs in the biz would take it on. They referred me to the nearest FVD shop which is some distance away so I scrapped that project. But....maybe you have the special skills required to pull it off.

Yea I seriously don’t have any skills however I feel like I can handle the sports chrono. After I save up for the instrument gauges I will have to send off to be done professionally. I’m just going back & forth if I like the red & white or the all red for the sports chrono.

FWIW.....the guy I bought my current GTS from had the main cluster done in red but left the chrono gauge black on purpose. Probably since it's separated from the main cluster and a blob of red up there on its own on the dash may look a bit off. I kind of like it in black but still go back and forth on whether or not make that one red too.

I didn’t realize this was an option. The red is tempting.

It was super easy to install. I followed the DIY and had it completed within an hour. I purchased the red instrument gauges and I’m currently saving to have Palo Alto Speedometer in Ca install for me.
