Hi
Sorry for not so prompt response.
My broker guy is locating some reliable guy and I've been told it should be no later than next monday on my time which will be sunday night for your time.

For duties, I believe it can not be $100,000. Korea has higher tax rate compared to Japan in terms of importing cars, however, it is not that crazy high.

For RHD, LHD issue, it is not that much of a big deal. It just takes a day or two to get used to it. You just need stretched clip thing to use for toll road tickets. I have seen tons of LHD cars in Japan specially euro cars.

I have an uncle who lives in Japan and like 4-5 years ago he won a Porsche Carrera from Dubai Airport (raffle) and he shipped the car to Japan. He told me he had to pay many different fees and duties but the total cost (including shipping) was about $75,000

Ok guys, thanks for all your input. I have some info, please feel free to share as I will continue to check this thread for updates.

I found a shipping company called Global in Japan (was referred by a Tokyo Porsche dealer). Basically, Global will take care of all shipping, emissions, testing, registration and taxes. Cost is approximately $10,300 and takes about 4 weeks.

Unfortunately, my lease does not allow me to ship the car overseas.... I could buy the car outright and then ship it, but Im not too sure about that. I guess I have to put the car up for sale.

It's better to sell it than to buy it then put up with all that hassle and expense. Once you're back, you can get another hopefully.
