Detailing poll

I have been importing microfiber towels for the commercial cleaning industry and am thinking about expanding into auto care. Can those of you who use these awesome towels readily tell the difference in quality between brands/manufacturers and secondly would you pay any attention to having towels that were embroidered with "Porsche" "911" or "Turbo" or whatever other cars you may have? Thanks for the feedback.

emboilered logo or marks would be bad for the paint right? i would not pay or want that. in fact, i've found that micro fiber doesn't absorb water well. this is the key reason i still use 100% cotton towels that are made in USA. I use two towels for each car and has no complaints.

microfiber towels

depends on the quality of the microfiber, not all microfibers towels are the same imho, i stopped using cotton towels five years ago, did the diaper thing for along time. as for drying the car waffle texture microfiber towels work great, however the first pass for drying the car i use a sythetis chamios, then compressed air, onto the waffle texture towel.

You are definetly correct, we are using a lower quality towel for our cleaning applications (house keeping commercial cleaning companies) that don't require higher quality products.

I have some waffle weave samples and higher polyamide content towels with higher face weights coming and am hoping to find a very high quality towel package that I can market at a reasonable cost.

I would love to hear from some pro detailers. Thanks!

For the past three years I've maintained/detailed my black car strictly with microfiber -- and I mean strictly...every washing is conducted via spray bottle and microfiber, I've NEVER washed my car in the conventional manner. My black paint is in awesome shape, I own at least 200 microfiber towels.

That being said...there is a definite difference in quality from one towel to the other. I've found the more "fluffy"/less dense types superior. For whatever reason, those yellow or blue in color tend to be the best. Keep logos off - they will scratch the paint. Dealing with labels and sewn borders is hazard enough (the new borderless towels are awesome) let alone a logo.
