PCCB Ripoff Free calipers in Australia
PCCB Ripoff Free calipers in Australia
Hey Guys,
Just wondering if OZ is the only place Porsche pulls this scam or not.
I was checking out the price for a Cayman $155K AUD Tip.
Fully optioned up is another $60K AUD (PCCB and PASM Included).
I was fine with that.
But I thought I would make further inquiries about the PCCB.
PCCB is $20K AUD. (Again I WAS fine with that.)
So I thought I would ask How much replacement rotors were.
The $Tealer bold as Brass said $40K or there abouts. WTF
I thought he said $14K which is bad but acceptable. No he said he would confirm.
He calls spare parts the guy says $80K. WTF. Then he tells the guy to be serious he is with a client. The guy says he will call back in 5 minutes with a Firm price.
He calls back $48K AUD. I said just the 4 rotors not the calipers.
He said he would confirm. Yes, $48K just for 4 replacement rotors.
1/3 of the cost of the car to replace just the rotors.
I said, how can you sell 4 rotors and CALIPERS for $20K and then ask $48,000 AUD for 4 rotors.
He looks me square in the eye and says, "Its normal for a every car company to charge Double for spare parts.
Give me a brake, That is way more than double, even If the calipers were free in the inital $20K.
So for anyone who has PCCB, and wanted to trade there car, if I were looking at he trade, I would be deducting $48K off the price to replace the Rotors.
Porsche should be ashamed of themself.
That is a blatent RIPP OFF.
With 3 sets of replacement rotors you could replace the whole car.
I said if you paid the 20K when they wore out could you replace them with normal Metal ones, he said NO.
So I guess that means No PCCB for me.
But it has soured my thinking of Porsche. For them to want to blatently RIP OFF a customer like that?
Anyone in the states have a Price for Replacement PCCB rotors? and a comparison to the inital setup cost?
MJ

Hey Greeting down under.
Sorry P car wants to shaft you down there,
They wouldn't dare pull that B.S. here in the states.
We pay ............ for the inital inclusion and replcement rotors are this........
Its great to see Aussie members on our board.
Take care.
C'mon guys just fill in the blanks, or I will be forced to Talk to myself.
I've been known to carry on conversations for hours that way.
The biggest problem is, I start to make sense to myself.
I'm going to need theorpy. Look at my eye....its starting to twitch ...again.

sorry forgive me for not reading word by word in ur posts but i got the idea down pretty good i think.
yes u're right. here in US the replacement PCCB rotors kit is indeed more expensive than the entire PCCB cost which includes all 4 calipers & hardwares. Porsche is weird on lots of parts, not just this.

But $48,000 For rotors, Kiss my hairy white Butt!
As insane as FULL price is, that would be tolerable.
But $48,000 when inital setup is $20K.
Thats a bend over we are going to shaft you and we don't care that you know.
$5K here and there ofr this and that, you will think how much you like it and what the hey, but $48K
I feel the need to slap a Porsche Executive for that.
$63 K in extras, Shame on me, $48K for replacement rotors, SHAME ON PORSCHE.
If the street hoods found out about this and wanted to mess you up, hey don't bother keying your Porsche, just take a hammer and with one hit on each rotor, Crack each one, and you Shaft them $48K.
Forget lock nuts on your wheels, you will need lock nuts on your PCCB rotors.
They'll pull the wheels off and leave them behind, and start a Black Market for PCCB rotors.
My next trip to the states, I'll be sure and let the Harlem boys know, hey leave the wheels the Rotors are worth more money.
I hope P car USA sees this. Then they won't allow us to get shafted $48 K for rotors.
That just Pi$$es me off.
That cannot be allowed to stand.
Be afraid, Be very afraid. I'm going to hook all the brothers up.
(Disclaimer, Of course I am not serious. Just trying to make light of Being shafted by Porsche).
I would hate to see insurance policys once the first person makes a claim with PCCB. The insurance company will have heart failure.
Then Future policys will Quadrouple in price for cars that have PCCB.
Don't be concerned with the cost of the PCCB anymore as you won't be able to inford the $100K per year to insure the Brakes. LOL
I should have been a comedian.
I'm here all week folks, try the fish.

I don't get it, are you in Australia?
Anyway, I bought my TT with PCCB, I love them, replacement is North of $40K USD, I had the brake pads replaced a few weeks ago and that cost me over $2500 AUD, we do get shafted here.
What dealer were you talking to?

Yes I am in Australia, but I travel to the States Frequently.
My home away from home so to speak.
I'll be serious for a moment so you can understand.
I thought if they were Just shafting us here in OZ, that I would Buy the car with PCCB ($20K AUD) and then if they needed replacement rotors, I would pick up a set in USA whilst I was there.
But if you guys are on the end of the royal shaft as well, I may pass on the PCCB.
$40K on rotors is justifyiable on a $500K vehicle, but not on a $150K vehicle that already has $60K in extras.
Regards MJ
Aussies really don't speak chineese do they, it is a sought of English/Amercian isn't it Mate ! Lol

I'm in Brisbane , Capital of Queensland. Eastern Coast of OZ.
If i'm going to track, stay away? Thats a contradiction to what the Stealer assumes.
They say that you would only need the extra heat disappation if you were tracking.
Are you going to say, that if you track, you will wear them out too quick, and have a $48K bill twice a month?
I put Stoptechs on my M5. They were about $5K USD. (They run Porsche fitment pads, axxis ultimates for street)
For $20K USD I can get Brembo Titanium LeMans. The rotors are $500.
They would outperform the PCCB. Who cares about warrenty with the mods I will do anyhow.
I would sooner have the Ti Brembos at sane prices then to bend over for Porsche.

MJ,
I'm in Sydney, do not get the PCCB's if you are thinking of doing any track work.
I tracked my car twice and was lucky I only destroyed the pads, If I chose to use the Pads that Porsche reccomends for the track, I would have probably destroyed the rotors too.
What Pcar are you looking to buy?
Cheers.

Cayman S.
I am a mad Golfer.
Whilst I don't need extra seats, 2 is enough, I do require
to be able to carry Two Sets of clubs.
The Cayman S is here now.
I raced my clubs down, and They fit.
I really wanted a Carrera S, but I'm not going to try jamming clubs through the door behind the seat.
When You have another car parked beside you either side.
911 Won't fit a decent bag, and no way will I take them in the front seat.
So the Cayman fits My needs better, even though I would like way more power.
Cayman S, Porsches First practical GOLF Cart. LOL
