Hi - Can anyone ID this part?

It fell off the bottom of my car, this morning.
It kind of made a clanging sound from the front towards the back.

It could be road debris....but pretty sure it was from the bottom of the car.

Hard to tell but it looks Iike your suspension spring broke. You may want to check your springs.

Yup, that's the coil from a PASM spring. They change diameter on the way down, unlike a traditional coilover spring.

I'm curious...

Did the part just fall off, or was the car moving?

Did the car not "sink" at the corner where the spring broke?

How do you think this happened?

Thanks. Indeed a front suspension coil. The car only dropped 1/4 inch on one side...so was hard to tell... I heard it dragging from the front to the back, while I was driving..so I wasn't sure if it was something under the car that held on the underside panels or not....

Apparently water kind of pools where the coil meets the plate and rusts out a little faster. Easy fix. Hate that they are only sold in pairs, though.

If anyone is an expert in dishwashers, I have another part I cannot ID...
