Replace rotors?

Took my 2010 Carrera 4s Cabriolet to get serviced, and they recommend replacing my pads and rotors. I have 75k miles. Is it normal to have to replace the rotors at that mileage? I don’t track the car, but it is my daily driver.

Tell them you'd like to know the thickness of each rotor and the runout, then check these numbers against the rotor specs and make a determination. If nothing else, it will make you sound knowledgeable about brakes and the dealer may not try to put one over on you. If you're close to the min thickness, then yes, replace them.

Rears on a 997 with the engine weight in the back and because of the PSM system wear faster than rears in other traditional front engine cars.

75k on the original rotors? I replaced mine at 40k with no track use. 78k with track use and about to go for round 3 @ 100k.

Ok, I don’t feel so bad then. Unfortunately I have a lot of repairs to do all at once. Brakes/rotors, front CV axle, new battery, front strut top mounts cracking and bump stops coming apart. Less than a year ago I had to replace the coils, so it’s a lot to sink into the car.

You should have some life in the rears but I had my fronts replaced just under 60,000 miles and I don't track mine either. They showed me the wear so it was real. Still have the original rears at what looks like fairly good shape at 65,000 miles.
